Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data Valora collects, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.

Last updated: June 13, 2026

1. Data we collect

We collect only what we need to provide price comparisons and improve the service:

  • Account data - if you create an account, your email address and authentication details.
  • Product context - the product page URL or product name you ask us to compare, so we can find matching offers.
  • Usage data - non-identifying information such as features used, pages viewed, and approximate region, used to improve reliability.
  • Device data - browser type and version, needed for compatibility.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not collect payment card details - purchases happen directly on the retailer's website.

2. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as currency), and measure aggregate usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended.

3. Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the platform is used in aggregate. Analytics data is used to improve performance and is not used to build advertising profiles or sold to third parties.

4. Browser extension permissions

The Valora browser extension requests the minimum permissions needed to detect the product on the page you are viewing and display comparison results. Specifically:

  • Reading product details on supported retailer pages you actively visit.
  • Communicating with Valora's servers to retrieve comparison offers.

The extension does not read pages unrelated to shopping, does not capture passwords or form inputs, and does not run in the background when you are not shopping.

5. How we handle your data

  • Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL.
  • Access is restricted to authorized personnel and systems only.
  • We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service or meet legal obligations.
  • We use trusted infrastructure providers bound by data-processing agreements.

6. GDPR (European users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Our lawful bases for processing are consent, contract performance, and legitimate interests. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

7. CCPA (California users)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. Valora does not sell personal information. You will never be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Children's privacy

Valora is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
